What is Chiropractic?
|
Chiropractic care restores and maintains proper function of the nervous system without the use of drugs or surgery. It is based on the fact that the body is a self-healing entity. Vitally important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord, and nerves of the body. The bones of the spine protect the spinal cord and nerves that transmit important information to and from the brain. If the nervous system is impaired, it causes malfunction of tissues, organs, and structures throughout the body.
Doctors of Chiropractic call this condition "subluxation.” A chiropractic adjustment has been shown to increase motion and circulation, reduce swelling and pain, and remove pressure from nerves. Once this happens, your body is able to do what it is designed to do - heal itself and function optimally.

Although Chiropractic doesn’t cure ailments, it allows the body to heal itself. Many patients have experienced a tremendous amount of improvement for a variety of health concerns through chiropractic care. Examples include:
- Migraines
- Headaches
- Sinus problems
- Low Back Pain
- Sciatica
- Asthma
- Otitis Media (Ear Infections)
- Digestive problems
- Vertigo/Dizziness
- Tightness/Soreness
- Stiffness
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Whiplash
- Many others
Don't forget the children!
Children need chiropractic care, too! Many studies have shown improvement in children under chiropractic care. Many suffer chronic ear infections, sickness, sleep problems, colic, digestive issues, pain, bed-wetting, and other concerns. Often, these are problems related to the spine and nervous system, which can be simply corrected with gentle chiropractic adjusting. Children often even respond better and quicker than adults! In fact, once they are under regular chiropractic care, children often hold their adjustments longer than grown-ups, too, which means fewer adjustments are needed. Our school bus-shaped adjusting table is a big hit when kids come in to get checked!
